About Madison Ave Watch Buyers

Madison Ave Watch Buyers is an independent buyer of luxury and used watches with a walk-in showroom on Madison Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. We buy directly from the public, with no middleman standing between you and the people who make the offer, and we are not a dealer for any brand. This is our own showroom and our own website, and this page explains who we are and how a visit works.

Call for a free appraisal, or come by the showroom with whatever watch you are thinking of selling.

What we buy

We buy luxury watches, everyday and vintage watches, and solid gold watches, from a single piece to a collection left in an estate. If you are not sure what you have, bring it in and we will tell you. Each kind of watch has its own page with more detail.

How an appraisal works

Every appraisal is free, and there is no pressure to sell. When you come in, we read the watch in front of you and explain each step as we go, so you can see for yourself how we reach a number.

  1. We identify the watch. We read the make, model and reference number, check the serial, and note whether it is mechanical, automatic or quartz.
  2. We look it over. The case, dial, crystal, bezel and bracelet, whether it runs, and any service or replacement parts, all in your sight. A solid gold or platinum case is weighed on the counter.
  3. We explain the offer. We tell you how we reached the figure, and nothing is done out of your sight.
  4. You decide. If you accept, we pay you in cash on the spot. If you would rather think it over, you keep your watch and walk out with no obligation.

A luxury watch is valued on its make, its condition and its completeness, and a watch in solid gold or platinum also carries the value of its metal, which trades against a published benchmark such as the one at the World Gold Council. Our luxury watch buyers page walks through how the make and the metal are weighed together, and sell my watch covers everyday and gold pieces.

Why people sell to us

We are buyers, not a pawn shop and not a chain, and we are not a dealer for any brand, so we buy directly and there is no middleman taking a cut of your offer. We work from our Madison Avenue showroom in Midtown Manhattan, buying watches from the public. We read each watch in front of you, we price in the open, we pay cash on the spot, and we are glad to appraise a watch for free even if you decide to keep it. The showroom is easy to reach right in Midtown.

Questions people ask

Does an appraisal cost anything?

No. Appraisals at our showroom are free, whether you came in to sell or only to find out what a watch is worth. We read the watch in front of you and explain how we reach a figure. If you decide not to sell, you keep everything and owe us nothing, and there is never any pressure to accept an offer.

How do you pay?

We pay in cash on the spot once you accept an offer. Because we buy directly rather than through a middleman, the money goes straight from us to you with nothing taken out along the way. Bring a government-issued photo ID, since New York requires a second-hand dealer to record who it buys from, and we handle the rest at the counter.

Are you a dealer for the brands you buy?

No. We are an independent buyer, not a dealer for Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille or any other brand, and not connected to them. We buy watches from the public and value each one on its own merits. Brand names appear on our site only to describe the watches we buy.
